Concept Boards

During today's lesson we were placed in groups and each had to put up inspirational objects and images that related to each of our individual themes, to create the start of our concept boards.
Below are each member of my groups concept boards, each relating to their own designer and theme.

And this is mine .....

As a group we talked about each of our designers so each of us could get an insight into each others designers, and then went on to discuss our individual themes. This really helped to talk to each other about our themes as it started to reinforce what we will be looking at and researching.
As a group we then went round each others mood boards and wrote words that we associated with each other themes the words that were written under mine included : -

Rouched
Gothic
Contrast of harsh & soft
Luxurious
Femme fatale
Mysterious
Soft tones
Detailed
Feminine and masculine combined
Erotic
Death
Dreaming
Foetal
Dark
Decaying

After getting he views of the lectures the main feedback was that they liked the theme of contrast between dark and beautiful things. How something that is horrible and dark or have a dark underlying subtext can still be very beautiful, this will tie in well with also looking at the relationship between draping and tailoring in the same way.
However I was told not to do what the designers of Givenchy have done before come up with something new and exciting all though you are designing for Givenchy make sure you give it your own personal twist. So I may start to take my theme in another direction and look at how to make horrible and dark things look beautiful. Such as the bones of skeletons seeing how these can possibly be obscured to become abstract and created different beautiful patterns.

After my feedback from my group peers and tutors I decided to change my concept board slightly and place images I think are most important to my concept on it, as the previous one had to many images and ideas within.
