From Historical research on Givenchy himself it is becoming more and more apparent of the close relationship between Audrey Hepburn and Givenchy.
She was his muse and he often designed many of her clothes on and off the silver screen.

Above: Iconic little black dress, worn in the film breakfast at Tiffany's 1961. I adore how simple uncomplicated and stylish this is !
Above: Dress from the film Sabrina 1954. Love love love love this dress !! Again beautifully simple and elegant, but the intricate detail and contrast of the black print makes it special.

Well it looks like I have a fair few films to watch over the next week or so, bit of easy studying I guess, but will hopefully allow me to see some old school Givenchy couture.
What I like so far just from looking at these few images, is that its very girly, very pretty and feminem. It will be intreating to see if this has continued throught time with different designers cuming and going.
However I feel I am starting to get a feel for what Givenchy is about, or at least what it used to be about ....... beautiful women, femininity, simple lines and designs, Intricate details, patterns and embellishments.
